I appreciate your past support and look forward to continuing to work together as your voice in the Minnesota Legislature to “right-size” state government, protect our Constitutional rights and advocate for common-sense priorities on behalf of the hard-working families of our district.
It’s been my great honor and privilege to serve the cities of Chanhassen, Shorewood, Deephaven, Greenwood, Excelsior, Tonka Bay, Orono, Minnetonka Beach, Spring Park and Mound in the Minnesota Legislature the past four years and I now look forward to serving our beautiful and special district for another two-year term. I will continue to listen to the concerns of all of our residents, work hard, and do my very best to represent the will of the people of our community.

Legislative Priorities
TAX RELIEF & RESPONSIBLE SPENDING
Families and small businesses in our community deserve meaningful tax relief after disproportionately carrying the burden of the excessive tax-and-spend policies that have come out of St. Paul. Just as families set budgets, prioritize spending, and live within their means, so should state government with our tax dollars.
SMART INVESTMENTS IN ROADS & BRIDGES
We should be funding our roads and bridges through existing revenue — not by a higher gas tax. Wasting money on new light rail projects — especially for the proposed $2 billion Southwest Light Rail Transit Line — is the wrong approach for taxpayers and won’t resolve our congestion challenges.
LOWERING COSTS & EXPANDING CHOICE IN HEALTHCARE
Obamacare and MNsure have resulted in higher premiums and fewer choices for our healthcare. We need patient-centered and market-oriented reforms to begin to lower costs and expand options for Minnesotans so we are empowered to choose the healthcare plan that works best for our families.
EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION
Education dollars should be focused on classroom learning, not more bureaucracy, so our local schools can build upon the quality education they provide our students. Costly, one-size-fits-all mandates from St. Paul are never as wise as the policies created by those in charge of our local school districts.
RESPECTING OUR SHARED VALUES & PROTECTING OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS
I supported legislation that became law to enhance our Second Amendment rights — allowing us to defend ourselves and our families. Additionally, I chief-authored legislation to end taxpayer funding of abortion.
HONORING OUR VETERANS
I’m proud to have co-authored legislation that became law to provide tax relief for about 18,000 veterans living in Minnesota who will no longer have their military pensions subject to state taxation. Additionally, the legislature passed $13 million in tax relief for veterans by raising the income eligibility threshold. We owe a debt of gratitude to our veterans!
