Who I Am

Jamie Becker-Finn/MN State Representative District 42B

Jamie Becker-Finn

MN State Representative District 42B
DFL

I live in Roseville with my husband Gabe, our two amazing kids, and two dogs. I am employed as an Assistant Hennepin County Attorney and have spent the last four years focusing on domestic violence cases. Gabe is a Clinical Director at a mental health facility. We volunteer with our church’s hunger relief project and Roseville Parks, and Gabe is also a volunteer youth soccer coach.

I grew up in northern Minnesota and I am a Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe descendant. I spent my childhood playing in the woods, learning about fishing, hunting, ricing and farming from my family. I still hunt, fish and harvest wild rice with my family on a regular basis.

I attended Cass Lake-Bena public schools until leaving for college. I then earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Minnesota. After college, I served a year with AmeriCorps at a youth center that provided free after-school care for kids. I later earned my law degree from William Mitchell College of Law.

What I Believe

I believe that regular people can work together to achieve positive changes in our communities. I believe in hope and continuing to work towards a better future for everyone.

I was first elected as State Representative in 2016. It is truly an honor to serve our community and I consider it a great privilege to be your voice at the State Capitol.

I am a thoughtful, respectful leader who values honesty and authenticity. I believe that every person is important and that every vote is important. With your support, together we can continue to do great things for 42B and Minnesota.

Thank you,

Jamie
